One week or two weeks before the defend of the thesis, the panel and the teachers were already giving possible questions and or guide to their students of what to present during the defend. The following are the possible guide to present during defend of the thesis entitled “EFFECTS OF TEENAGE PREGNANCY TO STUDENTS AND OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH IN MARAMAG, BUKIDNON”
Why the Topic is Chosen for Study?
The researcher chosen this topic as her study because she is concern about the teenage pregnancy that is already rampant all through the locality of Maramag, Bukidnon and even in the nearby towns and cities. The researcher want to know how this phenomenon or situation affects their plans for their education and future carriers. In spite of the reason that this study will not help her directly during her classroom instruction for she is an adviser of Grade II pupils, but through sharing this to her co-teachers, to the community, school administrators, friends and parents, indirectly her pupils will be benefited too for they will be soon teenagers.
Due to the increasing cases of teenage pregnancy in the Philippines and found out on this last decade that Philippine has the highest case all through the Asian region. Filipino Communities, families and teenagers must be smart enough to counter this phenomenon. The kind of peers and church involvement of the teenagers had influenced so much to their decision making with regards to sex. Its a fact that early sex to teenagers may resulted to teenage pregnancy that simultaneously hampers the ambitions and educational development of teenagers.

The schematic diagram in Fig. 1 shows the variables reflected to the 1st box.
These are independent variables which point out the major causes of teenage pregnancy and that are family, community peers and church involvement. In the 2nd box is the consequence of teenage pregnancy and that is effect on educational development. This is the dependent variable.
Statement of the Research Problem
This study is aimed to look into the effects of teenage pregnancy to the educational development of students and out-of-school youth in Maramag, Bukidnon. Particularly it aims to answer the following problems.
1. What is the demographic profile in terms of age, age when pregnant, educational attainment, status, type of school attended and economic background of the respondents.
2. What are the major causes of teenage pregnancy among the students and out-of-school youth in Maramag, Bukidnon.
3. Is there a significant difference on the educational development of teenage pregnancy when grouped according to age, educational attainment, status, type of school attended and economic background of the respondents.
4. Which among the major causes of teenage pregnancy effects most to students and out-of-school youth in Maramag, Bukidnon.
Basically, this study will employ a descriptive- qualitative research design. Certain questions will be designed to draw out responses despite this conditions that they are in. The descriptive study using survey was the main tool for gathering data. This was qualitative study where its main purpose is to determine the effects of major causes of teenage pregnancy and that are family, community, peers and church involvement on the educational development of students and out of school youths. Data collection was taken from the respondents chosen by the use of purposive sampling, picking all the cases that meet the criterion. Descriptive research describes and interprets what it was. It was concerned with the conditions or relationships that exist, opinions that are held, processes that are going on, effects that are evident, or trends that are developing. It primarily draws attention to the present although it often considers past events and influences as they relate to current conditions.
